The projects in question are Russian-language media, human rights, and analytical projects, as well as humanitarian aid projects operating in Ukraine. Many of the organizations in this field won’t be able to continue operations and pay their bills in the near future
After the US State Department’s call to review federal spending, the American funds that distribute state financing suspended aid for all programs and projects for 90 days. This has prompted the Boris Zimin Foundation and the Mikhail Khodorkovsky Foundation to offer support to the projects whose important work has temporarily been left without funding. The projects in question are Russian-language media, human rights, and analytical projects, as well as humanitarian aid projects operating in Ukraine. Many of the organizations in this field won’t be able to continue operations and pay their bills in the near future.
If your project’s funding has been suspended this way, fill out an application for support for a period of up to 90 days (in accordance with the time frame indicated for suspension of funds) and/or for the amount that equals a quarter of your already approved annual budget (depending on the original grant’s start date), and please attach:
1. Confirmation of the grant and a document suspending of funding
2. Documentation pertaining to the applying project and organization
3. The project’s detailed budget and a list of its other grant providers.
The deadline to submit applications is 2 weeks from the offer's publication date. We realize that time is a major factor and will try to review all the documents we receive within a week. Unfortunately, we will not be able to help all applicants and in full extent.
Here is the independent council we have created to consider the applications:
Sergey Aleksashenko, economist
Yevgenia Albats, journalist and political scientist
Boris Akunin, writer
Ilya Ber, journalist and fact checker
Sergey Guriyev, dean of the London Business School
Oleg Radzinsky, writer
