18 Children from Cyprus to Receive Aid from the Zimin Foundation

Summing Up the Pilot Project of Child Rehabilitation Support Program

The Child Rehabilitation Support Program is tailored to support children with special needs. The program operates across Cyprus through established specialised centres in Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol, and Paphos, ensuring comprehensive coverage throughout the country. This collaboration between ZF and families represents a commitment to providing accessible, quality rehabilitation services, aiming to bridge the gap where state support may be insufficient.

Altogether the program received 24 applications, and will grant aid to 18 children. Throughout this year we have worked with four rehabilitation centers from different Cyprus cities: BCI Specialized Centre for ABA in Nicosia; Building Blocks Pediatric Therapy Centre in Limassol; Berta Development and Rehabilitation Centre in Limassol; New Hope Private Special School in Nicosia. Under the program, these centers will be providing our children with sufficient hours of such services as physiotherapy, ABA therapy, speech and ergo (occupational) therapies, special education.

The final decisions on applications were made by the Cyprus Child Rehabilitation Program Committee. It is a cornerstone of our initiative, formed on the principle that local insight and respect are vital for the effective distribution of aid. The committee is composed of esteemed Cypriot citizens who understand the unique challenges and needs of local communities. We thank them for participation in the program and hope for further cooperation.

The next round of the program will be accepting applications in the spring of 2025, follow our news for an exact date announcement. To assist families in preparing for future applications, we recommend the following steps:
- Government approvals: Ensure that the necessary government subsidies or approvals are in place. This may include applying for any relevant support that the child may be eligible for and obtaining the corresponding documentation.
- Document preparation: Gather all necessary documents well in advance to avoid delays. This could include letters from government agencies, official diagnoses, and any other relevant paperwork that demonstrates eligibility for government support.
- Early application: Consider starting the application process earlier to allow ample time for obtaining approvals and gathering documentation.
